Mercedes SL R107 Convertible - building a high-end audio system
What we have done:
- In the doors, after several modifications to the original design, 3D-printed panels were installed to house STEG's Q-series speakers
- We also mounted speakers from the same series on the pillars - set in specially designed and printed "cups"
- To improve the acoustics, we made the doors soundproof - a key element for sound quality
- The entire installation was made from scratch - new wiring, fixtures, the entire structure
- We used a Retrosound Grand Prix radio with Bluetooth, USB and other modern features
- To complement the low tones, we used a Focal subwoofer, which was hidden under the seat.
- And the 6-channel STEG SDSP6 amplifier with DSP mounted under the rear seat - manages the entire system
- Finally, the whole thing was precisely tuned to maximise the system's potential and match the sound to the vehicle's interior.
