What is the difference between OFCu copper and ECu? The difference is due to the manufacturing process of the single wires, where OFCu copper (with a purity of 99.95%) is referred to as oxygen-free (non-oxygenated) copper and ECu (with a purity of 99.90%) as oxygen-containing copper. For single wires between 0.07 and 0.15 mm in diameter, OFCu copper is used and for wires between 0.20 and 0.30 mm in diameter, ECu copper is used.
