A-Ultra 2.1 aluminium-butyl mat

An easily mouldable composite material consisting of hard aluminium foil and a self-adhesive butyl rubber-based damping layer. Thanks to its special butyl compound, Ultra2.1 has excellent soundproofing and damping properties across a wide temperature range, while remaining lightweight. The rigid aluminium foil additionally provides a stiffening and stabilising effect.

Application:
The main areas of application for Ultra2.1 are places where vibration damping or noise reduction is required:

• Sheet metal components, e.g. door panels, vehicle roof, vehicle floor, air ducts...

• Plastic components, e.g. panels and covers in a vehicle

• All types of machinery

It is also suitable for:

• Closures and seals for internal door panels or other openings

• Forming a water shield over the speakers in the doors

Thanks to its very strong adhesive properties and temperature resistance, Ultra2.1 can be used overhead without concern, even in multiple layers.

Processing:
Ultra2.1 should be pressed firmly over the entire surface without air bubbles, preferably using a pressure roller. The adhesive strength depends largely on the pressure applied. The surface must be free of grease, wax and dust. Installation at temperatures below +15°C is not recommended.
